Review PÜR Mineral make-up

Hello Lovelies!

Sadly, this weekend I couldn’t film because there’s a big carnival going on right in front of my home. You can imagine the noise right? Yes, same songs on repeat… Instead I decided to do a blogpost on some items I’ve recently purchased and tried out from the brand PÜR.

The past month I’ve been struggling with spots showing up over night and multiplying as if my skin is like a painting that needs to get some color and texture. Therefore I decided to try some mineral make-up hoping it would help my skin in some way.

I’ve heard a lot of things about the brand PÜR and decided to give their products a try. I’ve picked up a few things from the website -No this blogpost isn’t sponsored, I’ve bought all the products with my own money :)-

PÜR claims to be the destination around the globe for the best in skin-perfecting mineral-based makeup and skincare solutions. They describe their mineral makeup as “makeup with a purpose.” All products are formulated with good-for-your-skin ingredients (shea butter, vitamin c, retinol etc) that not only help cover skin imperfections but also help correct its overall appearance. On top of that the brand is 100% cruelty-free = not tested on animals.  Reading this, I was pretty curious to try out their products.

Products I’ve purchased:

  • PÜR 4-in-1 Liquid 14 Hour Wear Foundation SPF15 in the shade Light – 27,50euro
  • PÜR 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation SPF15 in the shade Light – 27,60euro
  • PÜR My Favourite Things Bestseller Trio – on sale for 13,80euro

PÜR 4-in-1 Liquid 14 Hour Wear Foundation

This product claims to be lightweight and oil free, allows you to go all day long (14 hours to be exact!) without touching up your makeup. That last part sounds really good right? I’m a big fan of liquid foundations because my face is a bit ‘fuzzy’ so I like that liquids aren’t as drying as a powder. At first I was a bit scared that the lightest color wouldn’t be light enough for my pale skin but oh-my, even though the foundation applies a bit streaky it is the right color for me and I love the finish of it! You definitely need to work the product into your skin but the foundation gives your skin a natural glow. I wouldn’t say it is a full coverage foundation. If you’re looking for a foundation that will be full coverage from the start you wouldn’t really like this product. You can layer the foundation without the feeling of having a mask on though. Lasting up to 14 hours? I never wear my make-up that long so I can’t tell for sure, but personally after 10 hours I could do with a touch-up.

PÜR 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation SPF15

“A makeup and skincare hybrid, 4 In 1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation SPF15 gives you the flawless Mineral coverage of a professional foundation with the anti-ageing benefits of a ground-breaking skincare formula”. I admit, I didn’t use this product on his own but on top of my foundation because of my pimple-face. So far so good, it is a fine powder that provides that extra coverage I really need at the moment. I will give you guys an update on this soon (when I dare to wear it on his own that is ;)).

PÜR My Favourite Things Bestseller Trio

This Favourite Things Bestseller Trio seemed perfect to try out some more products of the brand. The kit contains a mini mineral glow bronzer, mini big look mascara with argan oil & mini lip gloss stick in Berry Pretty. The bronzer is a nice one, loved it the minute I applied it. It is pretty dark for fair skin but it blends very well and stays a long time. That and the fact that it’s mineral make-up & cruelty free = big yes! The mascara on the other hand isn’t that wow. It makes your lashes pretty long but tends to clump when you apply more than 1 layer, which I don’t like (see the picture below). The lip gloss stick is one to keep in your handbag. It is a nice color for transferring into Fall, smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G but is more of a moisturizing lip balm and on the sheer side. Overall a good kit if you want to test products without purchasing full size ones.

For the moment I can tell that the base (foundation, powder & bronzer) gives me a really confident feeling and does look natural (as far as make-up can look natural). I’m a big fan of the finish of the foundation & I’m pretty excited to see if this mineral make-up will make a difference in the appearance of my skin when I use the products a bit longer.

I will keep you guys posted on how I get along with these PÜR products over time!

PS: Even Lio liked to play with the products. Maybe because they are cruelty-free? *hands, or should I say paws?, in the air*

The benefits of Coconut Oil

Hi guys!
Today my lovely friend Mara (who lives in the US) takes over my blog for the day! Exciting, no?! 🙂 When it comes to coconut oil, she’s the expert.. So I really hope you guys like this post! Talk to you soon, xo Jo!
So when someone mentions ‘coconut oil‘, you probably think of cooking right? Well yes, of course, I did too! However, today I want to talk about some other uses for coconut oil! If you want to know more ways in which coconut oil can be used, keep reading… 🙂
Coconut oil is extracted from the ‘meat’ of coconuts. It is a saturated fat. Yes, it can be used for cooking
What is coconut oil?
Coconut oil is extracted from the ‘meat’ of coconuts. It is a saturated fat. Yes, it can be used for cooking (which is normally the main reason people use coconut oil). However, I prefer to use it for Beauty purposes.
Coconut oil is extracted from the ‘meat’ of coconuts. It is a saturated fat. Yes, it can be used for cooking
First, it is affordable & multi-purpose. Thus, it helps you save money & counter space!  Second, it’s all natural so you dont have to worry about using a bunch of nasty chemicals on your skin and/or hair. I buy my coconut oil at Trader Joes in the US. You can also buy it at most health food stores or order it online at Jo, who lives in Belgium, buys her coconut oil at a store called Essenza (see picture above).
collage_1 These are a few of my favorite ways to use coconut oil:
Coconut oil is extracted from the ‘meat’ of coconuts. It is a saturated fat. Yes, it can be used for cooking
1. Make-up Remover – I apply this right to my face and gently rub it around. It’s quick and gently breaks up the make-up. Then, I rinse it off with my face cleanser and water. I have combination-/ breakout prone skin and coconut oil works great for me!

2. Moisturizer for face and body – It feels great, smells delicious & is super moisturizing.

3. Lip Balm– Again super hydrating! If you accidentally ingest it, its ok. It’s all natural!

You can also use coconut oil as a hair mask. Personally, this does not work for me. Its a bit too heavy and leaves my hair feeling greasy. However, I know a lot of girls who swear by this, so it might work for you! (But I suggest you wash your hair twice after using coconut oil on your hair 😉 )

Have you ever tried coconut oil? If so, what did you use it for? If not, you should definitely try it! 🙂

London Beauty Haul

Hi guys!

A few blogposts ago I told you I was going to London for a few days. Today I show you the Beauty products I picked up while I was there. I recently ordered a few things online so I didn’t need to pick up ‘that much’ British goodies. 😉 😉

After Primark (that was our first stop when arriving in London) we went to Victoria Secret. I found the perfume I talked about and wanted. I picked up the smaller size which was 50ml for £42. That’s still kinda pricey but I really wanted it. P.S. I looove the bottle! (Do you also get sucked in by cute packaging??? 🙂 *oh-oh*)

All the other items are from Boots. I got to say, I think we stopped in every Boots we could find in Oxfordstreet… They have some really good deals going on right now, so if you live in England definitely check it out. For those of you who live in Belgium, you can now order stuff from Boots online! *yaaay* Shipping costs  £9,99 (that’s the downside but still..).

  • Hydraluron Moisture Booster -> £16,66 (instead of £24,99). This is my daily serum. I ordered it from Ebay a couple of times but it’s waaaay cheaper when you buy it in Boots.
  • Soap & Glory  ‘No Cloggs Allowed – Super self-heating deep pore detox mask’ -> £7,67 (instead of £11,50).
  • Clean & Clear ‘Advantage Spot Treatment gel’ -> £4,59.
  • Superfacialist by Una Brennan ‘Rose hydrate cleanser’ -> £7,99. I blame Estée from for this one. 😉 I’ve already tried it a couple of times and I like it!
  • Superfacialist by Una Brennan ‘Tea Flower – pore purifying clay mask’ -> £8,99.

  • Soap & Glory ‘Kick Ass Concealer’ in the shade light -> £10.
  • Bourjois ‘Healthy Mix foundation serum’ in the shade 52-vanilla -> £9,99.
  • Bourjois ‘Healthy Balance compact powder’ in the shade 52-vanilla -> £8,99.
  • L’Oréal ‘Miss Manga mascara’ -> £8,99.
  • Lanolips 101 multipurpose balm -> £7,99 (Okay this was a big mistake! I picked it up and thought it was £1,09 but no, it costed the whole 7,99 pounds!).
  • Rimmel nail polish in ‘Rose Libertine’ -> £1,99.

  • Charles Worthington ‘Moisture Seal Intense Rescue Melting Balm’ -> £11,33 (instead of £16,99). I’ve tried this last night and I like it so far. I’ve slept with it and washed it out this morning. The scent is amazing!
  • Charles Worthington ‘Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray’ -> £6,99.
  • Aussie ‘3 minute Miracle for Damaged hair’ -> £4,99 (or 3 Aussie products for £10).

  • Vaseline Spray & Go -> £3,99 (instead of £4,99).
  • Original Source Scrub -> £2,30.
  • Original Source shower gel -> £2,30.

A Fashion Haul will be up on the blog very soon. Some pieces are in the washing machine so I’m waiting for them to dry. 😉

Have you guys tried any of these Beauty products? Let me know!

Tip of the week! Big cosmetics stash?

Do you know those days where you think ‘Oh no, I have tooo much blush, shampoo, mascara,… I need to clean out my drawers!’ ?

Well don’t throw anything away (unless it’s really too old)! Instead give it to your mom, your best friend(s), a friend from school who also adores all those things… I’m sure they will be very happy with it and you will feel relieved because you cleaned out your stash. = WIN-WIN!  😉

P.S. I will be back with new posts after my last exam (this friday)!

Favorite Luxury Products

2) Concealer: MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NW20.

4) Bronzer: Guerlain Terracotta Poudre Bronzante in nummer 1.

6) Highlighter: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer.

Mijn favoriet hiervoor is Jean Marin.

Mijn pyjama ‘The Dreamer’ van Victoria Secret! LOVE THEM!

Picture - Victoria Secret (because I'm wearing mine ;))

Picture – Victoria Secret (because I’m wearing mine ;))

The ‘Favorite Luxury Products-tag’ (aka ‘The Princess-tag’) is a popular tag on YouTube. I thought it would be fun to do this myself and share it with you guys. That way you know what my favorite ‘luxury’ products are. Of course this is not the same as a video (though I might make one someday).

When you answer these questions you need to think about make-up items that you have in your collection (or that you want to have). These are products that make you feel like a real princess. Usually, some high-end products are not my ultimate favorites. There are products that are way cheaper and do the same. Why spend more money? 😉

So here we go…

1) Foundation: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 foundation in the color NC15. I’ve tested many (and I don’t exaggerate when I say many) foundations. This one is definitely on top of my list.

2) Concealer: MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NW20.

3) Powder: I don’t use a high-end powder. The Rimmel Stay-Matte powder does the job. You can find this at the drugstore.

4) Bronzer: Guerlain Terracotta Poudre Bronzante in number 1. This bronzer gives my face some warmth (which I definitely need). You can find this bronzer at the perfumery, department store, etc.

5) Blush: ‘Deep Throat’ from Nars. This blush is perfect for giving my face a rosy tint. You can find this blush online at or

6) Highlighter: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. A highlighter that you can also use as an eyeshadow. You can buy this online on or (if you live in Belgium) at a Di-store that carries the brand The Balm.

7) Eyeshadow: The Naked-palettes by the brand Urban Decay are thé best! I have the Naked 1 and use it on a daily basis. I ordered the Naked 2 and Naked 3. I’m really excited to try them out! I bought my Naked 1 whilst I was visiting The States but you can also order these beautiful palettes online on or

8) Eyeliner: I’m not picky when it comes to eyeliners or eyepencils. Today I’m using the Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Eyeliner and it’s really good. You can buy this at for only 2,99USD. Good deal no?! 😀

9) Mascara: Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara = my absolute favorite mascara. I’ve heard a little birdy whisper that the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara might be a dupe for it. I ordered it because that mascara costs only 3,59USD (what?! ;)). If it’s a dupe I will definitely write a blogpost about it.

10) Lip liner: I hardly ever use a lip pencil. On the rare occasion that I use it, it’s definitely not a high-end one.

11) Lipstick: Bobbi Brown lipstick in Pale Mauve.

12) Brow product: Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow powder in the color ‘brunette’. You can buy it on

13) Nail polish: I need to re-paint my nails fast. When I’m nervous I start chewing on them (I know bad habit!). That’s why I like ‘gelish’.  Gelish is a gelnail polish that you harden under a LED lamp.  It stays on for about 2 – 3 weeks.  My favorite brand for this is Jean Marin. You can buy these at a store called Pro Duo.

14) Random: this was the easiest question of all! The item that makes me feel like a little princess? My pajamas ‘The Dreamer’ from Victoria’s Secret! Got this for my birthday and if I could I would wear them all day long. LOVE THEM!
